Owens Corning Duration Driftwood Roof Replacement — Cambridge, MD

Project overview

This was a full residential roof replacement in Cambridge, Maryland, in Dorchester County. The scope covered a complete tear-off of the existing asphalt shingle roof down to the deck, inspection and repair of the sheathing, a new water-management layer, and installation of an Owens Corning Duration architectural shingle roof in the Driftwood colour. Drip edge, valley protection, pipe boots and ridge ventilation were all replaced as part of the same job rather than reused.

Cambridge sits on the Choptank River, and roofs here take wind off open water along with the humidity that comes with it. That shaped every material decision on this project.

Why the homeowner chose Owens Corning Duration in Driftwood

Where sheathing was found to be soft or delaminated during tear-off, it was replaced with new plywood before underlayment went down. That is measured and priced as it is found, not guessed at up front.
