Gutter Cost on Maryland's Eastern Shore (2026): Real Prices From Our Own Estimates
By Adam Whitaker, owner, Precision Exteriors (MHIC #166640) Last updated: October 25, 2026 Data: 510 gutter estimates for 404 jobs, written October 2024 through October 2026
Quick answer
On Maryland's Eastern Shore and in Delaware, Precision Exteriors installs 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters with hidden hangers for about $8.33 to $12 per linear foot (median $10), and 2x3 downspouts for about $8.33 to $11.11 per foot (median $10). Corners (miters) run about $30 to $36 each. Hangers, end caps, outlets, sealant, elbows, downspout straps, screws and splash blocks are included, and so is removing and hauling away your old gutters. We make 5-inch and 6-inch K-style gutters on site, most installs take one day, and we warrant our gutter workmanship for 5 years.
Three worked examples built from these same prices come to about $1,870 (about $16 per foot of gutter) for an easy one-story home, about $4,340 (about $29 per foot) for an older home near the water that needs strap hangers and Bulldog or GutterRx gutter guards, and about $8,240 (about $37 per foot) for a large two-story home with 6-inch gutters, LeafBlaster Pro gutter guards and new fascia wrap. See "What does a full gutter job cost?" below.
Key facts about this guide
- Who wrote it: Precision Exteriors, a roofing, siding and gutter contractor with offices in Cambridge, MD and Salisbury, MD.
- Where the numbers come from: straight from the quoting software we use to write estimates. These are the real customer prices on 510 gutter estimates (404 jobs) written from October 2024 to October 2026.
- What a range means: the middle 80% of the prices on our estimates for that item. One in ten was priced below the low number and one in ten above the high number. Where we give a median, half were priced below it and half above.
- What the count means: how many of our 510 gutter estimates included that item.

What does a full gutter job cost?
These three examples use only the prices on this page: the median where we publish one. Each line is rounded to the nearest dollar, and the total is the sum of the lines shown. They don't include work your house might also need, such as replacing rotted fascia boards we find once the old gutters come off.
Easy job: about $1,870 (about $16 per foot of gutter)
A one-story ranch with flat fascia and simple rooflines: 120 feet of 5-inch gutter, four downspouts adding up to 60 feet, and two corners. No gutter guards.
| Line | Quantity | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5-inch seamless gutter, hidden hangers (median) | 120 ft | $10 per foot | $1,200 |
| 2x3 downspouts (median) | 60 ft | $10 per foot | $600 |
| Gutter miters (median) | 2 | $36 each | $72 |
| Total | $1,872 |
Medium job: about $4,340 (about $29 per foot of gutter)
An older home near the water with crown moulding at the eaves, so the gutters hang on strap hangers: 150 feet of 5-inch gutter, 90 feet of 2x3 downspouts, four corners, and Bulldog or GutterRx gutter guards on every run.
| Line | Quantity | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5-inch seamless gutter, strap hangers (median) | 150 ft | $12 per foot | $1,800 |
| 2x3 downspouts (median) | 90 ft | $10 per foot | $900 |
| Gutter miters (median) | 4 | $36 each | $144 |
| Bulldog or GutterRx gutter guards (median) | 150 ft | $10 per foot | $1,500 |
| Total | $4,344 |
Hard job: about $8,240 (about $37 per foot of gutter)
A large two-story home where the roof sheds more water than 5-inch gutters can carry: 220 feet of 6-inch gutter, 150 feet of 3x4 downspouts, eight corners, LeafBlaster Pro gutter guards, and 120 feet of new aluminum wrap over 1x6 fascia.
| Line | Quantity | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6-inch seamless gutter, hidden hangers (median) | 220 ft | $12 per foot | $2,640 |
| 3x4 downspouts (median) | 150 ft | $12 per foot | $1,800 |
| Gutter miters (median) | 8 | $36 each | $288 |
| LeafBlaster Pro gutter guards (median) | 220 ft | $11 per foot | $2,420 |
| Aluminum fascia wrap, 1x6 (median) | 120 ft | $9.09 per foot | $1,091 |
| Total | $8,239 |
All three include removing and hauling away the old gutters, plus the hangers, end caps, outlets, sealant, elbows, straps, screws and splash blocks. Going two stories up doesn't change the price.
How we made this guide
Every price on this page comes straight out of the quoting software Precision Exteriors uses to write estimates. These aren't national averages or numbers copied from another website. They're the prices we gave our own customers on 510 gutter estimates for 404 jobs, written between October 2024 and October 2026. An estimate counts as a gutter estimate if it has at least one gutter, downspout, corner, gutter guard, gutter cleaning or gutter repair line. Some jobs got more than one estimate, which is why there are more estimates than jobs.
For each item we report the middle 80% of the non-zero prices and the median. We don't publish a range for an item we've quoted on fewer than 15 estimates, or for work whose price depends on the specific house, such as gutter cleaning and removing and reinstalling existing gutters. Those are listed as priced job by job. Your gutters are measured and priced on their own, so your total depends on what your house needs. These are the same line items you'll see on a Precision Exteriors estimate.
Part 1: What your home requires
6-inch gutters and 3x4 downspouts
At Precision Exteriors, 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters cost about $9.23 to $13.64 per foot (median $12), and the larger 3x4 downspouts that go with them cost about $9.23 to $12 per foot (median $12). We upgrade from 5-inch to 6-inch when our calculation shows a 5-inch gutter is too small for the amount of roof draining into it, when the fascia will allow it, or when you're already having overflow problems. 6-inch gutters were on 113 of our 510 gutter estimates.
Strap hangers on older and historic homes
5-inch seamless gutters hung on strap hangers cost about $10 to $12 per foot (median $12) at Precision Exteriors. We use straps on older homes, usually historic ones, that have crown moulding at the eaves or a slanted fascia, where a hidden hanger has nothing flat to fasten to. On flat fascia we use hidden hangers. 6-inch gutters on strap hangers are priced job by job, because we've quoted them on only 10 estimates.
Bay windows
Bay window miters are priced job by job. A bay needs extra corners cut to its angles, and we've quoted them on only 7 estimates.
Rotted or damaged fascia
Precision Exteriors replaces rotted or damaged fascia board and fascia metal as needed, billed by the foot. We don't publish a range for fascia board replacement because we've quoted it on only 12 estimates. A lot of the time we can't see that damage when we write the estimate, because it's hidden behind the old gutters or behind the fascia metal. We find it when the old gutters come off. New gutters can't be fastened to rotten wood, so we replace what's bad before the new gutters go up.
Removing and reinstalling existing gutters
When other work means your existing gutters have to come down and go back up, or they just need adjusting or repair, Precision Exteriors prices it job by job. This doesn't apply to new gutters: taking off and hauling away your old gutters is included when we replace them.
Part 2: What we recommend so your gutter guards last their warranted life
Cleaning your gutters before guards go on
When Precision Exteriors puts gutter guards on your existing gutters, we clean the gutters first, and that cleaning is priced job by job. A guard sealed over a gutter full of leaves and grit doesn't work, and the Bulldog and GutterRx warranties require the gutters to be thoroughly cleaned, properly sloped and the downspouts cleared before installation. If we're installing new gutters, there's no cleaning charge, because the old gutters come off and go away.
Part 3: What we recommend to protect your property
Aluminum fascia wrap
At Precision Exteriors, aluminum wrap over 1x6 fascia costs about $7.69 to $10 per foot (median $9.09), and over 1x8 fascia about $8 to $14 per foot (median $13.37). The wrap covers the wood your gutters hang on, so water can't soak into it. Wrap over 1x6 fascia was on 38 of our 510 gutter estimates.
Splash blocks
We set splash blocks where water hits hardest: at miter corners, in heavy runoff areas, and where a downspout empties onto a lower roof. They're included in the price of the gutters and downspouts.
Part 4: Upgrades you can choose
Gutter guard options
Precision Exteriors offers more than one gutter guard, and our estimators will tell you which one fits your house. LeafBlaster Pro is our leading option. Alu-Rex is another option at the same price. Bulldog and GutterRx are our options for homes near the water, and the estimator picks between them based on the trees around your home.
LeafBlaster Pro and Alu-Rex gutter guards
LeafBlaster Pro and Alu-Rex gutter guards cost about $9.17 to $13.33 per foot (median $11) installed by Precision Exteriors, and we price both the same. LeafBlaster Pro is our leading gutter guard, and in my experience it's held up in every situation we've put it in. It's made by Gutterglove. LeafBlaster Pro or Alu-Rex guards were on 142 of our 510 gutter estimates.
What the LeafBlaster Pro warranty says:
- 40-year limited warranty against defects in the guard's parts. It doesn't cover labor, like taking guards off and putting them back, or hardware or shipping.
- In coastal areas, defined as within 5 miles of a shoreline, the warranty drops to 10 years. The warranty's definition of shoreline names oceans, gulfs, seas and lakes and says it isn't limited to those. A lot of the Eastern Shore is within 5 miles of the Bay, its rivers or the Atlantic, so if you live near the water, ask us which term applies to your house.
- It's void after damage from salt spray, hurricanes, hail, windstorms and other severe weather, after improper maintenance, and if the guard is installed touching copper.
- Keep the warranty with your original receipt. Gutterglove says the warranty is void without it.
- It transfers to the next owner if you sell the house.

Alu-Rex makes several gutter guard lines, each with its own warranty. If your estimator recommends Alu-Rex, we'll give you the warranty for the specific product.
Bulldog and GutterRx gutter guards
Bulldog and GutterRx gutter guards cost about $9.80 to $10.91 per foot (median $10) installed by Precision Exteriors. Both are aluminum guards that fit new or existing gutters, and both are made by GPI Gutter Products. They're the options we recommend for homes near the water, and our estimator chooses between them based on the trees around your home. They were on 27 of our 510 gutter estimates.
What the warranties say:
- Bulldog has a registered 25-year limited warranty, and GutterRx has a registered 20-year limited warranty. Each covers two things: the painted finish, and the guard's performance in keeping leaves, twigs, needles and seeds from clogging the gutters and downspouts.
- Unlike LeafBlaster Pro, neither one has a rule that shortens the term near a shoreline. That's why we recommend them near the water. They aren't a promise against water damage, though: like LeafBlaster Pro, neither covers damage from salt or hurricanes, and both also exclude hail, flood and ice dams.
- Both have to be registered within 30 days of installation.
- Neither covers the cost of removing or reinstalling the guards.
- Both transfer to a new owner only with proof of the transfer.

Which guard is right for your house
All of these guards cut down on cleaning, but none of them is maintenance-free. Bulldog and GutterRx put clearing debris off the top of the guard on the homeowner, and the LeafBlaster Pro warranty is void after improper maintenance. None of these warranties pays to take the guards off and put them back. If your home is close to the water, Bulldog and GutterRx keep their full term (25 and 20 years). Away from the water, LeafBlaster Pro's 40-year parts warranty is the longest.
Copper and half-round gutters
Half-round aluminum and copper gutters are special order, so Precision Exteriors prices them only after a site visit. We've quoted them on 4 estimates, too few to publish a range. One thing to know if you're considering copper: the LeafBlaster Pro warranty is void if the guard touches copper.
Other gutter types
This guide covers seamless aluminum K-style gutters, downspouts and gutter guards, which is most of what Precision Exteriors installs. We make 5-inch and 6-inch K-style gutters on site. Half-round aluminum and copper gutters are special order. Commercial box gutters come pre-made, and we put them together on site. For the other profiles and materials, see our gutter types page. For more on guards, see gutter protection. For how an install goes, see gutter installation. Gutter tune-ups are priced job by job; see gutter tune-up. If you're also replacing your roof, see our roofing cost guide.
What Precision Exteriors doesn't charge for
These are included in the price of the gutters and downspouts:
- Taking off and hauling away your old gutters when we replace them
- Hangers, end caps, gutter sealant and outlets on every gutter run we install
- Elbows, screws and straps on every downspout we install
- Splash blocks where we set them
- Two-story work: there's no extra charge for height
- Color: there's no extra charge for gutter colors
- Travel or mileage, anywhere in our service area, including Delaware
And if we're replacing your roof, we clean out your existing gutters at no extra charge. New gutters are priced separately, only if you replace them.
Where we work and how location affects price
Precision Exteriors uses the same price list everywhere we work, with no travel or mileage charges. On our estimates, the median price for 5-inch gutters ($10 per foot) and 6-inch gutters ($12 per foot) was the same in Delaware as in Maryland. Your price comes from your house, not your zip code.

Frequently asked questions
How much do new gutters cost on Maryland's Eastern Shore?
At Precision Exteriors, 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters with hidden hangers cost about $8.33 to $12 per foot (median $10), and 2x3 downspouts about $8.33 to $11.11 per foot (median $10). Corners are about $30 to $36 each. Our worked examples come to about $1,870 for an easy one-story home, about $4,340 for an older home near the water with strap hangers and Bulldog or GutterRx guards, and about $8,240 for a large two-story home with 6-inch gutters, LeafBlaster Pro guards and fascia wrap.
How much do gutter guards cost?
Precision Exteriors installs LeafBlaster Pro or Alu-Rex gutter guards for about $9.17 to $13.33 per foot (median $11), and Bulldog or GutterRx gutter guards for about $9.80 to $10.91 per foot (median $10). Our estimator recommends the guard that fits your house and trees. If the guards go on your existing gutters, we clean the gutters first, and that cleaning is priced job by job.
Can you put gutter guards on my existing gutters?
Yes. Precision Exteriors installs guards on existing gutters as well as new ones, at the same per-foot prices: about $9.17 to $13.33 per foot for LeafBlaster Pro or Alu-Rex and about $9.80 to $10.91 per foot for Bulldog or GutterRx. We clean the existing gutters first, priced job by job, because a guard over a dirty gutter doesn't work and the Bulldog and GutterRx warranties require clean, properly sloped gutters.
Which gutter guard do you recommend if I live near the water?
Near the water, Precision Exteriors recommends Bulldog or GutterRx gutter guards (about $9.80 to $10.91 per foot), and our estimator picks between them based on your trees. Their warranties (25 years for Bulldog, 20 for GutterRx) have no shoreline rule, while LeafBlaster Pro's 40-year parts warranty drops to 10 years within 5 miles of a shoreline. None of these warranties covers salt or hurricane damage, and none pays to remove and reinstall the guards.
What warranty comes with LeafBlaster Pro gutter guards?
LeafBlaster Pro, which Precision Exteriors installs for about $9.17 to $13.33 per foot (median $11), carries Gutterglove's 40-year limited warranty on parts only. It drops to 10 years within 5 miles of a shoreline. It's void after salt spray, hurricanes, hail, windstorms or improper maintenance, and if the guard touches copper. It transfers to the next owner.
Do I need 6-inch gutters?
Not always. Precision Exteriors moves up to 6-inch gutters, about $9.23 to $13.64 per foot (median $12), when the roof sheds more water than a 5-inch gutter can carry, when the fascia allows it, or when you're seeing overflow. 5-inch gutters run about $8.33 to $12 per foot (median $10).
Do you charge to remove my old gutters?
No. When Precision Exteriors replaces your gutters, taking off and hauling away the old ones is included in the price of the new gutters (5-inch from about $8.33 to $12 per foot).
How long does gutter installation take?
Most Precision Exteriors gutter installs take one day. We make 5-inch and 6-inch K-style gutters on site.
Do you warranty your gutter work?
Yes. Precision Exteriors warrants its gutter workmanship for 5 years.
How much does gutter cleaning cost?
Precision Exteriors prices gutter cleaning job by job, because it depends on how much gutter you have and how full it is. If we're replacing your roof, we clean out your existing gutters at no extra charge. If we're installing new gutters, there's nothing to clean, because the old ones come off.
Do two-story homes or colored gutters cost more?
No. Precision Exteriors doesn't charge extra for two-story work or for gutter colors. 5-inch seamless gutters run about $8.33 to $12 per foot (median $10) either way.
What if you find rotted fascia behind my gutters?
Precision Exteriors replaces rotted or damaged fascia board and fascia metal as needed, billed by the foot. That damage is often hidden behind the old gutters or the fascia metal, so we usually find it when the old gutters come off, not at the estimate. We've quoted fascia board replacement too rarely to publish a range. Aluminum wrap over 1x6 fascia runs about $7.69 to $10 per foot (median $9.09).
How much do copper or half-round gutters cost?
Half-round aluminum and copper gutters are special order at Precision Exteriors, and we price them only after a site visit. We've quoted them too rarely to publish a range. Standard 5-inch aluminum gutters run about $8.33 to $12 per foot.
Do you charge more in Delaware or for long drives?
No. Precision Exteriors uses the same price list everywhere it works, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and in Delaware, with no travel or mileage charges. Our median price for 5-inch gutters was $10 per foot in both states.
