If you have a pool in Maryland, you need a fence around it. The fence has to be a certain height, the gates have to self-close and self-latch, and the design can't allow easy climbing. Getting it wrong means failing inspection and potentially facing fines or liability. We install pool fences that look good around your pool area.
Pool Fence Code Requirements
. Gates must be self-closing and self-latching; where the latch release is less than 54 inches from the bottom of the gate, it must be on the pool side at least 3 inches below the top. The fence cannot have openings that allow a 4-inch sphere to pass through (to prevent small children from squeezing through). Horizontal rails or other climbable elements on the outside of the fence are not allowed.
